What is 8D(Disciplines)

                     What is 8D(Disciplines) 

8d is the technique of problem solving in Industries .it is a Quality document and requirement of IATF and ISO .it is mainly used is Manufacturing ,Automotive industries but Now a day is also used in Service Sector.
if we talk About What is 8D you can say that it is a problem solving technique that identify ,correction ,and eliminate the re-occurrence of problem or defect.
basically this responsibility is separated by department and handled by their respective engineer.
after preparing the 8D we need to Verify the all steps which is mentioned in report because it Assure  the process problem will not occurs Again.

1. D0:-Plan
2. D1:-make a team
3. D2:-Define and describe the problem
4. D3:-Define Containment plan/Action
5. D4:- Root Cause of the Non-Conformity

What is 8D
8D format

1. D0:-Plan

Plan for How to solve the problem and how to do All activity.

2. D1:-Make a team

Make and establish a team of various department Which have knowledge of product and process.

3. D2:-Define and describe the problem

Describe the problem or defect by using Wh family like who,what,where,when,why,how.


4. D3:-Define Containment plan/Action

It is important part in short term action plan .it is also called temporary Action by Supplier Where we are Take the action on finish goods by using Rework,Repair and Segregation Activity.


5. D4:- Root Cause of the Non-Conformity  

It is process the identify the way or cause of defect or problem occurrence and need to also identify why this problem had been not detect before made the product or service.
you can use the why why analysis,Cause and effect diagram or other method  to detect the problem.

6. D5:-Corrective Action

In Corrective action take the action on process where the root-cause of defect Found and we ensure to customer this will not happen again.
some times it is also called permanent action . 
the basic difference in Containment action and corrective action is 
Containment action take on the finished goods and corrective action take on the process .

7. D6:-Verify Corrective Action

It is a part of evaluate the process there is where we take the Corrective action and no any error in the process .
it means we validate the Corrective action.

8. D7:-Congratulation the team

After completing all the activity and validation we appreciate the team who is involving in this activity.
