There is a important role of QA/QC inspector in layout inspection. Keep patience and learn in details .

*What is layout inspection ?

Layout inspection is a method to insure the product is as per design or Not means every dimensions which is given in drawing or design is matching with physical part or product.

*Why we need to layout Inspection ?

As you know that layout inspection gives us to data or dimensions which is given in drawing so that if we will not do the layout of any part how can we ensure that part is as per drawing or not ,how can we justify that whether part will be used part will easily meet to requirement or application so there is neccessary to every inspector to know why layout inspection is important for us.

*How will be do the layout-Inspection?

As we know that many types of industry in manufacturing so we will learn with an example through step by step.
If we take a sheet metal part so what is the key point important at the time of layout inspection.
Firstly we required a surface plate or surface table for inspection surface , 1 V-block (may be 2 or 3 depends on your product size) for hold the product and all the instrument which is used for measurement.

As you are seeing that the picture like this we required a surface plate.
Now we would fix it through V-block or whatever you uses.
Before the set our part for inspection, we will bubbling in drawing means we give the number or notation to every dimensions given in drawing.
For sheet metal part we have take some important instruments like vernier calipers, height gauge, filler gauge, micro meter, etc.
First of all we would set our part on surface plate through v block means our product will have need to perfectly rest on the surface plate insure through your instrument.
We will take a every reading which is given in drawing and check it all is in within tolerances.

After taking every dimensions, we will check that which dimensions is out of tolerance and we will work on it .
How will we work on it. Firstly we can inform to our team that particular dimension is not within range and also inform to CFT further will take a action on it , now will find out the root cause of this problem and take a suitable action on that dimension.

* When should we do layout inspection?

As you know that we can't do the layout inspection on daily basis because of it take too much time or may be depends upon on criticality of part .
We do only inspect some dimensions which is given in our control plan which is critical on daily basis and most of the dimension we don't inspect on daily basis due to less criticality or take too much time .
Exactly we can't say that what will be a perfect time for layout inspection it vary industry to industry and part to part .
In my experience, we can inspect the product overall at every end of month.
